Calculate Your Ceramic Heater Running Cost

Most ceramic heaters are 750W, 1,000W, or 1,500W.
US average is $0.15/kWh.

How to Calculate Ceramic Heater Running Cost

Ceramic heaters use a heated ceramic element with a fan to distribute warm air. They warm rooms in 2–3 minutes but stop producing heat immediately when turned off. To calculate cost: divide wattage by 1,000 to get kWh per hour, then multiply by your electricity rate. For a 1,500W ceramic heater at $0.15/kWh: 1.5 kWh × $0.15 = $0.23 per hour.

Unlike oil heaters, ceramic heaters don't retain heat — they only warm the room while running. This makes them ideal for short sessions (1–4 hours) where you need quick warmth. For all-night use, the continuous running cost can add up. A 1,500W ceramic heater running 8 hrs/day costs ~$55/month at $0.15/kWh.
