Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 22, 2026

1. Information We Collect

You do not need an account to use this site and we do not ask you for personal information. Every page loads a web analytics script from Clicky (static.getclicky.com), which records the pages you visit, the page you arrived from, your approximate location from your IP address, and your browser and device type. Clicky may set a cookie in your browser so that repeat visits can be recognised. If you email us, we hold the address and message you send until we have dealt with it.

2. Amazon Associates and Affiliate Links

Heating Cost Calculator participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. Some product links on this site are affiliate links: if you click one and buy something, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Following such a link takes you to Amazon, which will apply its own privacy policy and set its own cookies — including ones used to attribute the sale to us. We never see your payment details or what you eventually buy; we see only aggregate commission reporting. Our full affiliate disclosure is on the disclaimer page.

3. Third Party Services and Cookies

These are the third parties involved in serving this site:

  • Clicky — web analytics, loaded on every page; may set a cookie to recognise repeat visits.
  • Google Fonts — the Inter and Playfair Display typefaces are requested from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads.
  • Amazon Associates — applies only if you click an affiliate product link, as described above.
  • Advertising — this site reserves ad slots. Where a third-party ad network is served into them, it may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The calculators will still work; they run entirely in your browser and do not depend on cookies.

4. Data Retention

We do not store your calculator inputs or results. Every calculation runs locally in your browser and nothing you type into a calculator is transmitted to or stored on our servers. Analytics data is held by Clicky under its own retention policy in aggregate, non-identifying form.

5. Children’s Privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date at the top.
